Brachioplasty, also known as an arm lift, is but one of several procedures performed at our three Connecticut locations. This particular surgery removes excess skin and fat between the underarm and the elbow. The area of greatest concern is usually the inside of the upper arm where we commonly see the “bat wing”.
This results mostly from excess skin with only a very small amount of excess fat. The outer and top of the arm is usually an area where we can find excess fat and this is therefore treated with liposuction at the same time. Liposuction in this area tends to help define the” smaller arm” that exists underneath. The procedure overall reshapes your arm to result in smoother skin and contours, and results in a more toned and proportionate appearance.
The final scar is placed towards the back of the inner arm to minimize its appearance. If there is skin excess that continues down onto the side of the chest the incision can be lengthened to include these areas with dramatic results.
