Breast Implant Procedures by One of Connecticut's Best
Breast augmentation procedures are available in our Connecticut offices, easily reachable from greater New Haven and beyond. Breast augmentation uses implants to change the shape of, or enlarge, the breasts. Also known as augmentation mammoplasty, many consider this procedure:
- After weight loss or pregnancy
- To improve breast symmetry so that both breasts are the same size
- To correct for natural aging
One of the many cosmetic procedures we offer, breast augmentation can help many women feel better about themselves, boosting confidence and self image. There are others, too, who undergo breast augmentation as part of breast reconstruction, after treatment for cancer and other conditions.
While breast augmentation addresses breast fullness and shape, it does not correct for drooping or sagging breasts. Some women consider a breast lift, together with breast augmentation, for a firmer, more youthful appearance.
The procedure involves small incisions, either:
- Under the breast
- Around the areola (the darker skin surrounding the nipple)
- In the armpit, or
- In the navel
If the incision is in the armpit or navel, we may use an endoscope to help place the implant. Whether inserted by scope or hand, the implant sits behind the breast tissue or underneath the chest wall (pectoral) muscle.
Saline or Silicone Implants
Your body type, profile and size help us determine the kind of implant that is best for you. There are two types: saline (filled with sterile salt water) and silicone (filled with silicone gel). Both are FDA-approved. In some cases, we may also use some of your own fat cells, along with the implant, to produce a better cosmetic outcome.
For many years, silicone implants, compared to saline, were thought to be a greater risk for immunological disorders. However, in 2006, after 14 years of researching the safety of silicone implants, the FDA found no connection with any type of disease.
Implants in Several Shapes and Sizes
Silicone and saline implants come in several shapes, sizes and textures. We can customize the best choice for you, based on your lifestyle, body shape and personal preferences:
- Low profile breast implants
- Moderate profile breast implants
- Moderate plus profile breast implants
- High profile breast implants

Delighted patients. Dr. Reilly and our staff consistently receive high marks from patients who are pleased with their experience and results. With their permission, we are happy to share before and after photos with you.
Financing and Payment Plans
Because breast augmentation is considered an elective procedure, health insurance does not cover the surgery. (There may be some exceptions for reconstruction following cancer or illness.) Also, the cost of breast implantscan vary greatly from patient to patient, based on body type and desired results. We accept cash, check and major credit cards. We have also worked with CareCredit for many years to provide the best financing services available.
